Located in Arlington, Virginia, across the Potomac from Washington, DC, the Arlington National Cemetery spans 1 square mile and honors over 400,000 service members, veterans, and their families. Key sites include the Memorial Amphitheater, the John F. Kennedy Gravesite, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Visitors often find locating the grave of a notable veteran or loved one to be a moving experience. The cemetery also offers a downloadable app to help locate specific graves.

As the city expanded, DC’s well-heeled sought to create a fashionable neighborhood and populated it with magnificent Beaux arts mansions and townhouses. This section of Massachusetts Avenue NW was originally called Millionaires Row after the nouveau riche began to build 60 room mansions on (what was then) the outskirts of Washington, DC.  In time, these beautiful structures would attract foreign embassies who helped revive and retain the cultural and social fabric of the area.Not every embassy is on Embassy Row and not every building here is an embassy! But a majority of the 170+ embassies in DC are located in this neighborhood.
